How Do Manufacture Procedures Affect Stainless Steel Jewellery Showcases?
Stainless Steel’s Welding
Welding includes spot welding and full welding when manufacturing stainless steel showcases for jewelry. Spot welding will fuse two or more steel layers together just at some specific points, while full welding will connect some points of steel layers by spot welding, then weld along the gap, and finally form a seamless appearance without any welding points and gaps. Simultaneously, full welding will cost more and it will take longer time.
However, full welding is a must for professional manufacturers of display case for jewelry. All high-quality stainless steel jewellery display cabinets will use full welding.
Before polishing, we need to confirm that there isn’t any dirt, grease or other things that might cause imperfections. And at last, we will inspect if the polished surface is even in order to avoid causing bad impacts to the following procedures and especially might damage the display jewellery cases directly if careless. We can’t recognize the welded parts of jewelry display case after electroplating if polished well.
Seaming
The seaming is also necessary in the production process of stainless steel jewelry cabinets. The seam should be smooth, even, and consistent along its entire length without any visible gaps, cracks. The seam should be level with the surrounding surfaces and matches the finish of the surrounding stainless steel, whether it’s a wooden, velvet, or mirror finish.
Additionally, it will be strong and able to withstand stress without breaking or cracking. If possible, give light pressure or a non-destructive test to ensure the seam holds up under stress.
Stainless steel electroplating is the process of adding a thin layer of another metal to the surface of stainless steel so as to increase corrosion resistance and durability. At the same time, the color of stainless steel display cases for jewellery could be changed to what customers want.
After electroplating, oil will be sealed on the stainless steel for anti-oxidation and anti-fingerprint.
To know whether the electroplating is done well or not, just check the electroplating layer. Use a hard item to scratch the surface of jewellery display case slightly, if you can see the original color of the stainless steel, this indicates that the electroplating layer is too thin.
If the electroplating layer is thick, you will not be able to scratch it even if you use a lot of force.
If the stainless steel does not need to be electroplated and its original color is maintained, we recommends that it must be oil-sealed. Otherwise, cleaning and maintenance will be troublesome during use. There are often fingerprints that cannot be wiped off. Otherwise, the surface of 201 brushed stainless steel is easily oxidized and rusted over time if the original color is not oil-sealed.
When choosing a customized stainless steel display cabinet for jewelry, you need to pay attention to the materials that will used to produce jewelry showcases and the details during manufacture procedures. There are also other factors that will affect showcase display, like lighting, design and the like.
